THE SALVATION ARMY START PROGRAM

The Salvation Army START Program provides support services to approximately 45 adults with developmental disabilities in a variety of group home living and community based setting.  The Behavioral Support Consultant is responsible for working within the agency to implement behavioral plans and strategies for individuals.  Responsibilities include:

v Develop behavioral plans and strategies that will help agency staff work more effectively with individuals.
v Assist individuals to regain/improve their coping abilities.
v Provide applicable staff training.
v Focus on building partnerships with mental health supports and chair Behavioral Review Committee.

Skills:

v Post-secondary in a relevant discipline
v Leadership, mentorship and life skills
v Report writing and documentation skills

Salary:  $22.00 - $25.00/hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Start Date:  June 4, 2007
Closing Date:  May 28, 2007
