VALID is a multi-service, not-for-profit community based organization located in Vegreville, Alberta.  We seek to support independent lifestyles for people with developmental disabilities and provide community based family support services through a self-directed team approach.

Individual Support Worker 1:1 Contracts - various positions
 Position Summary:
- Initiating and implementing day to day activities of the program
- Following individual health and safety procedures
- Being an active and positive team member
- Working independently
- Consulting with program Team Leader
- Having good written and verbal communication skills
- Having good problem solving/conflict resolution skills
- Providing leisure and recreational activities of the individual's choice
- Representing VALID professionally in the community
- Having good organizational skills
- Attending monthly meetings
Qualifications:
- Grade XII, Graduate of recognized Rehabilitation Program Certificate or relevant education    in Human Services
Assets:
- Current First Aid/CPR Certificate
- Basic Skills/Foundations Training
- Medication Administration Certificate
- Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance
Wage Range: $12.55 - $13.99/hour
Closing Date: August 31, 2007 

Individual Support Worker

Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12, Rehabilitation Practitioner/Disabilities Studies Certificate or relevant education/experience

- current First Aid/CPR Certificate
- must have a reliable vehicle and appropriate insurance
Salary: $12.80/hour

Individual Support Worker 1:1 Acquired Brain Injury
Position Summary:
- Initiating and implementing day to day activities of the program
- Following individual health and safety procedures
- Being an active and positive team member
- Attending monthly meetings
- Consulting with program Team Leader
- Having good written and verbal communication skills
- Having good problem solving/conflict resolution skills
- Providing leisure and recreational activities of the individual's choice
- Providing assistance in rehabilitative activities for the individual
- Having good organizational skills
- Transporting individual
Qualifications:
- Grade XII, Graduate of recognized Rehabilitation Program Certificate, or relevant education in Human Services
Assets:
- Current First Aid/CPR Certificate
- Basic Skills/Foundations Training
- Medication Administration Certificate
- Must have a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage
Driver's License and access to or own vehicle
Wage Range:: $14.25/hour

Community Disability Worker I
-Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or equivalent experience (GED)
- CPR and First Aid an asset
- Requirements
- Class 5 License
- Reliable vehicle and appropriate insurance
- Must provide a driver's abstract
Wage Range:: $9.78 - $13.65/hour
Wage Range: :$7.56/hour - Sleep Shift

Experience and education in a related field would be an asset.  However, a number of our positions provide employees the opportunity to acquire the skills and work towards a career in disability services.
