Alberta Beach developed as a railway community and was primarily used for recreation. In 1920, Alberta Beach was incorporated as a village and over the years has become a popular resort. Alberta Beach is located less than 60 km from Edmonton on beautiful Lac Ste. Anne. This village serves as a very popular summer resort with its quality campgrounds and numerous recreational opportunities. The sandy beach and warm shallow water provides an excellent opportunity of fun for all ages.

Alberta Beach has a permanent population of 762, but swells to over 3,000 during the busy summer months. During those months, the lake is filled with people swimming, sea-dooing, wind surfing, and boating. Family activities abound throughout the year with dances, music, sleigh rides, horseback riding, and snowshoeing. Residents enjoy access to a golf course, library, four churches, and a sports park. With its close proximity to Edmonton you can get all the services and shopping benefits of an urban centre, but still enjoy the village’s quaint restaurants, small shops, gas station, and other services.
