Bonnyville is a beautiful community situated 250 km east of Edmonton. The town’s motto--“It’s Multi-Natural”—refers to its celebration of diverse cultural heritage and rich natural resources. Bonnyville is uniquely situated on Jessie Lake, a natural wetland, and home to more than 200 species of birds. The economy is strong, expanding faster then the provincial average. This strength can be largely contributed to the town’s role of being the hub for the oil and gas industry with over 60 national and international head offices located within Bonnyville.

The town’s population has been steadily increasing to its present population of over 5,896 people. Bonnyville is a great place to raise a family, with its largest population segment falling within the 5 to 14-year-old age group. The community offers an excellent variety of stores, specialty shops, restaurants, motels, and service businesses, all of which offer unique products and services. There is no lack of leisure activities for people of all ages with the availability of an 18-hole golf course, a swimming pool, an arena, a bowling alley, a curling club, a cultural centre, a library, a museum, and much more. Not to be missed are the annual Bonnyville Pro Rodeo and the Lakeland Music Festival. Since lakes and boreal forests surround Bonnyville, it has become a renowned place for hunting, fishing, bird-watching, and recreational lake activities.
