Barrhead is located 117 km from Edmonton, which is only a 75-minute drive away. This town has all of the desirable qualities of a welcoming rural community with many of the benefits found only in larger centers. Situated at the intersection of two primary highways and three secondary highways, Barrhead is a regional trade centre for a population of over 20,000 people. The community boasts the best agriculture regions within the province and is very active in the natural gas, oil, and forestry sectors.

The town has a population of 5,768 and is considered to be an excellent place to raise a family. Classified as a safe and affordable community, it boasts over 500 businesses, but the main attraction in Barrhead is it’s beautiful lakes and wilderness. Outdoor enthusiasts will be awed by the dozens of fishing and recreational lakes, as well as the Boreal forest, which offers a great setting for hunting and camping. Within the town, there is a wealth of opportunities for entertainment, including two fairs and two rodeos held annually.
